With age the appearance of the face changes as a result of many factors. Sun damage changes the appearance of the skin with fine wrinkles and colour changes and gravity results in drooping of the skin of the face and the appearance of larger wrinkles and jowls. The youthful appearance of the neck often changes due to the same process.
Improvements in fine wrinkles may be possible with the use of agents such as Botox, dermal fillers and laser therapy but for some people these therapies will not produce a significant enough improvement in appearance.
Facelift may provide that required improvement for some patients. It is a more invasive procedure than those described above and as such has increased risk such as scarring, nerve damage and healing problems. These will be fully discussed in the clinic along with your suitability for the procedure.
