Background
Mr Robert Bains is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon whose NHS practice is based at the General Infirmary at Leeds.
He graduated in medicine with honours from Leicester University before moving to Yorkshire for his General and subsequent Plastic Surgery training.
His specialist training included a microsurgery fellowship in Leeds and one year in Children’s Plastic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
Specialism
Mr Bains has a special interest in major nerve injury in both adults and children with microsurgical reconstruction. His upper limb surgery practice includes management of vascular anomalies, sarcoma and thoracic outlet syndrome in adults and congenital hand difference in children. He is a member of the hand transplant team.
He also manages more general adult and children’s plastic and hand surgery problems such as skin lesions, nerve entrapment, Dupuytrens disease, arthritis and ganglion cysts.
He offers a full range of aesthetic treatments including facial, breast and abdominal surgery in the private sector.
He is on the specialist register for Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council and is a full member of BAPRAS.
